  1. What do you do for a living?

  1. Tell us your story of how you came to do CrossFit and how long have you been doing it (at 1976 and/or others)?

The first exposure I had to CrossFit was the 2011 CrossFit Games. I watched the final event of the men’s and women’s and I told Jenny that CrossFit is the future and is going to be huge. Ever since then I have wanted to try it. With life happening we never had the time or money to start going. When Jeremy mentioned in a work meeting that he was doing CrossFit in his garage and said we could come and join him I was in. Jenny agreed to try it once or twice and we never looked back. We have been working out with Jeremy and Emma ever since. It’s been amazing to see the little group turn into our large CrossFit 1976 family.

  1. What are some of the successes you’ve experienced?

I have never been so strong or so fit. I am lifting more than I did in high school, I can run longer and faster than I ever have, I can touch my toes without bending my knees (on a good day), I can bend over and tie my shoes without issue, I no longer fear getting on the floor and playing with my little girls, I no longer avoid putting things in the back of my truck because now I can get them out, I can sit and stand for longer periods of time without my back starting to hurt.

  1. What are your current goals?

My current goals are to work on mobility. My strength is good but with better mobility I feel that my form will be better and allow me to lift more.

  1. What is your favorite movement/exercise?

I like anything with a bar, pull-ups and double unders.

  1. What keeps you motivated?

Seeing my progress from a month or a year ago. Last year I couldn’t clean 185# in the open and last night I got a 200# PR.

  1. Any tips or advice for a CrossFit 1976 newbie?

Just keep coming. It really works if you put in the time and effort. Don’t get discouraged when you fail at something, we are all there, just on different levels. If you push yourself you will make it to the next level.

  1. If you could have a super power what would it be and why?

I would want to be able to control H2O, like the molecule. That way I could suck all the water out of my enemies and provide water for my friends. I would never need water storage, a towel, a glass, or a life jacket.
