I spent eleven years in the military where I gained a love for being physically active and working out. After being honorably discharged I spent the next ten years going to a globo gym three to five days a week, in addition to playing basketball three to four days a week, and completed multiple races and triathlons. Over the course of that time I slowly put on more weight, not muscle. I got as heavy as 200 pounds, and at 5’-7” that’s not good for longevity.

Five years ago I was introduced to CrossFit by a coworker who wouldn’t shut up about this amazing fitness program. I started following the workouts online from CrossFit.com. I would drag the equipment all over Gold’s Gym to do the workout as best I could, and watch tons of videos to try and learn the movements.

I liked it so much I sweet talked my bride into spending a tax return on equipment so I could do it in my garage. Within the year some friends talked me into training them and that was where I learned how much I loved helping others get healthier.

Within a couple months of starting CrossFit on a regular basis I had lost 20 pounds. A year later I dialed in my diet and lost an additional 20 pounds. I was down to my post deployment weight for the first time in eleven years. The kicker was, even though I was the same weight I was now two pant sizes smaller than that time.

It is humbling to know I am helping people live healthier, happier lives and to see the excitement it brings to them as they see varying results, not to mention the camaraderie as the athletes suffer together and support one another.

I have been involved in CrossFit classes with my husband on and off for two years. I have been overweight and I have been in shape so I know what it means to have to work hard to lose weight and get into shape. After my third child was born and not feeling good about myself I knew I needed to get back into shape so I started running. I went on to run multiple half marathons and I completed my first full marathon in October 2014. Even though I was running I knew I needed more, I had no muscle tone. So when my husband started teaching CrossFit I knew that was what was missing. I have loved the changes it has done to my body.

I love being active and working with others to help them reach their goals. I have been teaching kids CrossFit classes and get such joy as the kids grow and see what they can really do. I would love to be able to work with you too.
