  1. What do you do for a living?

Self employed software engineer. I am hired to build software or act as hired CTO for various companies in Utah, California and Texas. I also own the best supplement company in the WORLD called SweatAngel. Love your face Dan!

  1. Tell us your story of how you came to do CrossFit and how long have you been doing it (at 1976 and/or others)?

I’ve been hearing about Crossfit from friends for a long time and wanted to find something that helped me push through my goals. I was personally driven but was missing things in my normal workout routine and life. I became more of a runner but noticed that strength was not increasing but my cardio was. I started at Crossfit 1976 because I lived in Eagle Mountain and it was a close place for me to workout. I would not have been so lucky to find a great place to start. After moving I still workout there because of the environment and people. It’s my Crossfit family, and you always stay loyal to your family ;)!

  1. What are some of the successes you’ve experienced?

I have seen my abilities and confidence in what I am doing grow in all aspects of life. I have also found a perfect balance of being okay with pain everyday. That may sound strange but it has enhanced my life. You find your real personal power when going through adversity no matter if its physical, mental, or emotional. Having a physical trial to go through and to stay committed has helped me grow and my success with Crossfit has helped with other successes in life. Success to me is now defined as a constant progression and journey not a destination or end.

  1. What are your current goals?

My current goals are to always work on each part of my Crossfit workouts but to focus on the workouts I struggle at. Keeping these things in the back of my mind. Your only true competitor is yourself. As Crossfit athletes we tend to find things we hate but that just hinders our progress. Increase your weight, beat your time, add another workout, eat right, and rest. Like everything you do, try to find a way to conquer it and stay committed.

  1. What is your favorite movement/exercise?

My favorite workouts are the Gymnastic movements. I find that it gives me strength, flexibility, and cardio all together. But on the side of that I love Thrusters, snatches, burpees, box—- Well I just like it all.

  1. What keeps you motivated?

Everyone’s support helps and I appreciate it more than anything but my motivation I find comes from myself. Having the self motivation with your peers in the background is icing the cake. That is what makes the perfect environment and why Crossfit 1976 is so great. Thank you Jeremy and Emma for everything you do.

  1. Any tips or advice for a CrossFit 1976 newbie?

Stay committed and never give up. Find your self motivation and surround yourself with good people who are committed themselves and like to succeed.

  1. If you could have a super power what would it be and why?

My favorite super power would be able to fly. Why, umm who wouldn’t want to fly.
